Student Scenes

Description: Shamrock Student Scenes is a student-directed program as night-of-one acts. These acts are written by students, directed by students, and performed by students. All students audition but this is a no-cut program. The audition is strictly for the directors’ insight and students’ experience. These scenes range from 10-15 minute one-act plays that vary in genre and cast size. This is a great opportunity for students who are new to the program to gain experience and for existing students to perfect their skills.

Timeline: January 2024 – February 2024

Show Days: Friday Night Only

Student Directors: Usually not limited to upperclassmen with two years of existing theatre experience who are interested in developing a full script to direct. Directors submit a written script draft to Mr. Grubb the Wednesday before Thanksgiving break for approval. Student directors may also choose an existing one-act of 10-15 minutes in length should funds be available for purchase. Student directors should be able to organize themselves and others, give constructive feedback and critique to actors, as well as develop a clear vision for the stage place of props, set pieces, and design elements (lighting and sound).
